Cerium oxide nanoparticleswere prepared by combustion method using citric acid as a fuel. The obtained cerium oxide nanoparticles characterized using XRD, FTIR, and DRS tools. The crystal size determined by XRD tool. The direct and indirect band gaps calculated by using the extracted data from DRS. The obtained cerium oxide nanoparticles are used as photocatalytic for degradation of amaranth (AM) and orange G (OG) dyes. The photodegradation efficiency of CeO2 nanoparticles was 83% and 84% within 120 min for AM and OG, respectively.
