Abstract

This paper investigates the factors affecting the effectiveness of recruitment and selection methods in the Saudi Food
and Drug Authority (SFDA). In the current study, the researcher conducted four semi-structured interviews with the
managers from different departments operating in SFDA (human resources, IT, management and finance) using targeted
sampling. The study revealed that national culture, gender family background and religion were of great influence to the
recruitment, and selection process of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). The paper holds essential implications
for both theory and practice.
